It was found by peasant named Yorgos Kentrotas, inside a buried niche within the ancient city ruins of Milos, the current village of Tripiti. 1877 - Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake receives its première performance at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. The performance was likely given as a benefit performance for the ballerina Pelageya Karpakova (also known as Polina Karpakova), who performed the role of Odette, with the Bolshoi Theatre's Première danseur Victor Gillert as Prince Siegfried.
